What is NFC FORUM LLCP AND SNEP ?

The NFC Forum LLCP and SNEP test tools allows to make sure that a NFC device complies with the NFC Forum requirements. It especially concerns the handling of high level messages.

Indeed, the LLCP layer (Logical link control protocol) is conceptually similar to the OSI layer 2. It provides a mean to establish either a connected (stable) or connectionless (unstable) communication mechanism.

One layer above, the SNEP layer (Simple NDEF exchange format) uses the LLCP layer to allow the exchange of business oriented messages in a reliable manner.

It is able to run on both the MP500 TCL3 and the Contactless Test Station (CTS). Our NFC Forum LLCP and SNEP test tools run in a fully automated mode. It do not require any human intervention. Even when you have to switch from R/W mode to card mode (and vice versa), thanks to the triple antenna. The tool allows to switch from one mode to the other seamlessly, just by software commands.
