EMVCo is the management body for the EMV standard.
EMVCo’s members are :
- American express
- Discover
- JCB
- Mastercard
- Union pay
- Visa
It is supported by all the payment industry actors which are participating as EMVCo associates.
EMVCo defines and develops EMV specifications for payment systems. Working groups are working on the evolution of the EMV standard and decide on consensus basis to ensure satisfaction of members.
EMVCo also administrates testing and approval processes to certify the compliance of payment cards and terminals with EMV specifications.
